Critical Incident Response

Critical incidents are unexpected or unplanned events which occur within a workplace, affecting individual employees or the entire workplace.

These incidents can include:

  • The death of an employee, client or customer
  • Assaults or threats
  • Workplace accidents
  • Unforeseen workforce changes

Relationships Australia – NT provides Critical Incident Response, a type of crisis intervention designed to provide support for people who have experienced traumatic events.

Our qualified staff can offer support within a group or individual basis. We help staff understand their reactions to a critical incident are a normal response to a highly distressing event, providing a safe space to process what has happened and begin moving forward.

Our team work with organisations to develop a tailored response which supports employee wellbeing, guided by best-practice approaches and the unique needs of your workplace. Practical resources and guidance are also available to help managers and staff continue supporting wellbeing in the days and weeks following the incident.

An effective response to critical incidents is vital to minimise negative outcomes such as absenteeism, anxiety and stress.

No workplace can prevent every crisis, but every workplace can choose how it responds.
